Persistent Absence

The Attendance Team closely monitors every child's attendance, and will work closely with families whose children’s attendance has become a concern. Help and support is offered, and we ask that parents, in line with the Government's expectations, engage with school to ensure that their child doesn't miss out on their education.

38 sessions equates to 19 days of missed school, this is classed by the Government as  persistent absence. Children who are persistently absent from school generally do not do as well as their peers. They may also find it harder to form friendships.
